They are a peace-seeking force, the 25 of them from Russia, dressed strikingly in ochre and white. Squatting atop the Pulliparamala in Omalloor, they closed their eyes, probably to ponder over the soul’s enigma. The place to them was hallowed; it had the samadhi mandapam or tomb of Siva Prabhakara Sidha Yogi, a saint who inspired them into spirituality.
The spiritual seekers, on a visit to Omalloor since June 17, are from Moscow-based Divya Loka Ashram, founded by Swami Vishnudevananda Giri, who met the yogi in Bulgaria and became his disciple.
Swami Vishnudevananda Giri, who heads this year’s delegation of monks to India, said on Thursday the ashram would organise an international seminar on spirituality in Omalloor here in April 2013 to coincide with the 27th death anniversary of the yogi.
The ashram would send a 101-member team of spiritual seekers to Omalloor to attend the seminar, he said.
A temple will also be constructed atop the rock, he said.
